To be Christ to Everyone
To see Christ in Everyone
The Communal First Saturdays is canonically and liturgically approved by the church. On December 10th, 1925, Our Lady and the Child Jesus came to Sr. Lucia and asked if First Saturdays Devotions were being done. This year we are celebrating 100 years.
In 1916 an Angel (the Angel of Peace) appeared to 3 shepherd children, Jacinta, Franscisco and Lucia, who were saying their Rosary’s. He taught them this prayer, “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You! I ask pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You.” Telling them that The Hearts of Jesus and Mary want them to pray this prayer. The Angel of Peace appeared two more times.
On the 13th of May in 1917, Our Lady appeared to the three children, telling them to come for the next 6 months on the 13th of each month. She told them that She would tell them of who she is and what she wants. She asked them, “if they were willing to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?” They told our Lady “Yes” Our Lady then told them to “Pray the rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world, and the end of war.”
This is the beginning of the story of Fatima. To find out more, you can purchase a book to take and read on your own or take our class which we will be offering. We also have devotional books for sale. These books will help you follow during the devotional.
I have been leading the First Saturdays Devotion since Covid, which was started many years ago by Helen Brignac, who just passed away last week. A couple of years ago Fr. David had gone on a retreat and when he came back, he asked me what we did for the First Saturday Devotion, I told him confession, the Rosary, and Mass. He told me that he had received some information about the Communal First Saturdays, and we were missing the meditation after Mass. Since then, we now have confession starting at 7:00am, Prayers before the Rosary and Rosary at 7:30, Mass at 8:15 and after the Mass 15 minutes of meditation, and final prayers.
You may have heard of it as 5 First Saturdays which is a man-made title. Jesus told Sr. Lucia there 5 First Saturdays because there are 5 kinds of offenses and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary:
1. Against the Immaculate Conception of MaryOur Lady promised us personal salvation and peace in the world. The way to do that is to continuously spread The Communal First Saturday Devotion.
